Visiting the Colorado Crew

Here's a look back at our visit to the Colorado crew a couple of months ago.
Sunday afternoon arm wrestling! (I think Macy and Jack both won!).

How do little traditions get started anyway? The girls always like to do some artwork while we are plopped on their bed, and also they like to "talk." Carly and I were able to do that this visit, but Macy was at gymnastics so we missed her input (because that girl can talk like a teenager!).

Jack has the gift of being able to play chess. I'm so challenged in that area that I can't even give the idea of being able to think more than one move ahead a moment's space in my brain or I get a headache.

The kids are at such fun ages and their imaginations know no bounds. They had made a store in the basement and grandpa and I enjoyed shopping. They were good workers, just as advertised!

Their Lego collection is wild! Look at all of these creatures. Maybe it's their version of Amy's glass cats?

Gotta have a tea party!

Macy's gift of a strong, agile body and the burning desire to work at gymnastics. Beautiful!

Carly's gift of music and the way she lights up when she shares it!

Wyatt's awesome Team Wyatt bracelet made it's way to Carly's ankle!

These kids love to write. And Jack's book "The Island of Treasure" is a treasure!

We went to "Top Golf" which was really fun. The weather was inappropriately gorgeous and warm (for February, at least I think it was February I can't even keep the months straight!). I felt like I was a rich person when we were there. Everything was top notch at top golf!

How random is this.....Macy likes to collect colored pencil leads! I told someone about this and they said their daughter did the same thing at that age? Really? Crazy!

We were able to watch Macy's gymnastics meet and it was incredibly fun. I was afraid it would be fraught with nail-biting but it was such a blast!

Her cute team.

in all their cuteness
Their coach Lazlo - isn't that the perfect name? And he has that great accent too. He's devoted to his profession and they're fortunate to have him in Castle Rock!

"So easy, so easy!......"

With their cute moms. Amy's our mouse and she's the tallest one :-)

We also got to watch Jack play basketball. He's a great little ball player and has the drive to drive it to the hoop! I was actually more nervous at the basketball game than at the gymnastics meet!

Yeah, I loved the Sunday afternoon arm wrestling event!

The kids wrote a play and performed it for us. Macy in character as the store owner.

Okay, I hope this isn't mean, because my gosh, how much do I love the fact that we cajoled Dennis into playing a game that included drawing! This woman is a keeper. The kids wanted to play it the next morning before we left when Dennis was busy packing and they decided straight away that it wasn't half as much fun without grandpa.

We also discovered that Carly's got a talent for drawing! She did so well that Amy didn't even have to help her after the first couple of rounds.

We love you Huish family! It was a short and sweet visit and we had such a great time!
