Macy's Baptism Day!

I'm so grateful beautiful Macy was baptized and that the Huish family traveled to Utah from Colorado for the occasion. Macy is quite the girl - so full of life and spunky and organized and ready to take on the world! She was the last of our three little granddaughters born in 2008 to turn eight and get baptized this summer and we will always cherish each of those memories. Here she is beaming with joy in her beautiful dress, flanked by her mom and dad. Her baptism took place in Orem in the same Stake Center where Dave was baptized.

Cute Huish kids! Jack gave one of the talks at the baptism, which he wrote himself. There was such a beautiful spirit during the baptism and both grandpas bore their testimony too.

Macy's cousin McKay was also baptized which made it a special day for the Huish family. He's the little guy wearing glasses at the end of the front row. Everyone looks related to each other in this picture.

Great-grandpa and Great-grandma Hiatt enjoying the company of Deann's mother Sister Woofendin.( I'm sure I spelled that wrong).

And especially enjoying the company of Macy!

We barely fit on the couch. Some factory somewhere has sure made a lot of floral couches for LDS foyers. If we saw a picture of that couch in a catalog we would all know where we'd seen it before.

And here we are again on couches. Remember the fall-colored crushed velvet floral couch in West Valley with the acorns? I think we owned that couch longer than the last five that I keep replacing. Tony and Cindy's family  were away celebrating Cindy's 40th birthday the morning Macy was baptized, so weren't able to be there to witness the baptism but were able to join us for the rest of the Labor Day weekend.

Elise was still here with us, but she was babysitting for Forrest's sister so wasn't at the baptism either but she joined us for the rest of the weekend.

The girls are singing some of the songs from "Wicked" and they belted those lyrics out so long and hard that they were all hoarse by the time they were finished! You can see Jane and Reagan holding their throats.

This is Macy with the Fairy Village at night. I've found that I have to take everything down the next day or it immediately turns into a Motel 6 for spiders! IMMEDIATELY!!

We took a hike up to Lake Mary on Labor Day. It was gorgeous weather and we were in good spirits. We missed Carly and Dave because Carly had sprained her ankle badly at a trampoline park the day before and couldn't put any weight on it so Dave stayed home with her.

The boys!

Cindy and the buddy Truman.

Reconnoitering. I just looked up the definition of reconnoitering. It means to make a military inspection for the purpose of gathering information. Okay, so not technically reconnoitering but it's such a fun word!

Jane's favorite pose when she hears "Jane! Stay there - wait a second, I want to get a photo!"

And this picture of Elise cracks me up! I think she pulls off the sweatshirt-head beautifully!

This is so cute and natural.

And these two are cute and natural too! Eight-year-old cousins. You can see from everyone having their jackets tied at their waste (or on their head) that we were prepared for it to be cool and it wasn't.

Jack found the perfect spot to relax.

I don't think I got any pictures with the actual lake in it, but this is on the banks enjoying our sack lunches. I think lunch tastes so good after a hike, even when it's just a peanut butter sandwich.

Macy and Vivian spied a little chipmunk who must have smelled the Doritos.

Truman enjoying the water bottle. Perfect lid to teethe on!

Macy being extra careful with a little butterly.

And here are some of the kids after the hike was over. Still looking fresh as daisies.

The gaggle!

Later that day we went down to Tony and Cindy's house in Springville and headed over to the park for some tennis and some big-girl swinging where Lauren was able to join us too. She was at work when we took our hike.

Tennis anyone?

Jack getting some air! Both Jack and Eli took tennis lessons this summer so it was fun for them to get out and play.

Eli with the return!

Jane took tennis lessons too - see her fine form? She played on the Jr. High Tennis team too and she and her friend Emma played doubles. I think their team won their division?

Swinging monkeys!

Amy having a little Truman time.

Jack is 10 and Eli is 11 and they're almost exactly the same height and their hair is exactly the same color.

Yay - I found the iconic washtub photo of Macy and Vivian and Carolina almost eight years ago at Christmas. Looking at these photos it seems like eight years was a long time ago - and also that time flies. Just think, in eight more years THEY WILL ALL HAVE THEIR DRIVER'S LICENSE!!

XOXOXO
Mom

  1. Thanks for such a fun weekend! It's fun to see the girls in the bathtub picture again. Let's not talk about them having their drivers licenses.
