We had Lauren's bridal shower October 26, 2019 at our home, and it was so much fun! One of my favorite parts was a few days before the shower I was talking with Cindy about how to decorate the tables, and one thing lead to another and Cindy got out her jewel-toned mason jars, and they were the perfect vehicle for our color scheme. I had so much fun getting silk flowers and colored stones to fill them with. I still have a jar of the colored stones on my counter.
I told Lauren that I was the oldest and first to get married on both sides of the family, just like she would be, and that these 11-year-old girls will always remember being there and watching her with a kind of awestruck wonder, almost like she was a princess (I know this because the 11-year-old girls who were at my wedding have told me that as adults). Here are some cuties, Macy, 11, Carly, 9 and sister of the bride Vivian 11.
Cindy has nine brothers and sisters and they all live close. It's usually been just Dennis and I representing the Sweat family, but wonder of wonders we have Angie and Amy and their girls back in Utah so we were well represented. Aunt Denny and Aunt Karla were able to come too and they both loved seeing everyone. I cleaned the house to within an inch of it's life. So well that getting ready for the holidays was a breeze because I didn't have to do anything, I'd already done it for Lauren's shower!
This is what Reggie would look like if she were six foot three instead of five foot three.
Jane made beautiful posters for the shower - this is one with pictures of Lauren and Zac as little kids where we had to guess their ages, and then I didn't get a photo of the gorgeous Lauren and Zac sign she made.
We played a game where we had to guess the title of some of Lauren's favorite songs (COUNTRY - that GIRL!). It was great fun.
She got spoiled rotten with gifts galore too. That's Zac's young and beautiful mom on the couch next to Reagan.
Cindy enjoyed every minute - I can't believe they have a child getting married!
Lauren enjoyed every minute too.... I don't think that smile has left her face from the day Zac got home from his mission.
(I haven't been able to download photos from my iphone to my computer so I've been blog-less for months. But Angie showed me how to access them in icloud and it worked! Thank you Ang! It takes twice as much time because I have to download each photo individually onto my desktop and THEN download them to the blog, but I wanted to document a few more things on the blog and this is one of them).

ReplyDeleteAnyway, what a fun shower and so glad me and the girls could come. They'll definitely remember it and the wedding! I was just about their age at Angie's shower and wedding. (-:
Oh, it looks so fun! The house looks beautiful and Lauren's smile just jumps out of the screen.
